    Covalent supports SCORM

Covalent now hosts and plays SCORM and manages your training content natively, right alongside the on-the-job training. One platform from first lesson to job-ready.

    Why this matters

We started with OJT. Now we are adding eLearning.

For frontline workers, hands-on training on the floor is the most effective way skills get built. Around 75% of industrial leaders rank it their top method (IndustryWeek and Informa Engage). That's why Covalent was built.

eLearning often comes first, before someone steps onto the floor. Now Covalent supports eLearning too, right alongside your OJT.

    The bigger context

Built on the method that works

75% of industrial leaders rank hands-on, on-the-job training as their most effective method. In order to fully support the frontline worker, Covalent is expanding into classroom and eLearning too.

    What you get

Everything you need to deliver the learning

Four capabilities to support eLearning at scale.

    One content library

Upload and manage every training asset in one place: SCORM packages, PDFs, videos, and images. Search, filter, and see at a glance how each item is being used across your workforce.

    • Upload digital media and files
    • Launch SCORM
    • Hosted on GovCloud for sensitive content
    • SME-approved technical content, no third-party bloat
    A built-in SCORM player

Launch a SCORM package directly from the objective a trainee is working toward, no separate login or external tool. The player reads the package, runs it, and tracks the session as it goes.

    • Start, pause, and resume right where the learner left off
    • Time, scores, and completion captured automatically
    • Plays content stored in Covalent or behind your firewall
    Everything stays connected

Link a piece of content to the objectives, records, and employees that depend on it. When the content changes, you can see exactly what it touches and keep your training current without guesswork.

    • Tie content to objectives, records, and people
    • Track which version is in use, and where
    • Update once and know what is affected
An audit trail you can defend

Every learner session is logged with completion status and timing, recorded against the same objective the rest of the training history lives on. When an auditor asks for proof, it is already there.

    • Session-level history for each learner
    • Completion status carried onto the qualification record
    • One source of truth across learning and OJT

    Operations
    Confidence in job-fit

Know that members of your team have completed all compliance-related training and all on-the-job training in one consolidated view. Coverage decisions rest on a single record that reflects both eLearning and OJT, so you put the right trainee on the right job.

Course completions, sign-offs, and qualification status sit on one traceable record. When an auditor asks how an trainee was trained and cleared, you produce the full chain in one place instead of stitching exports together.

    Good to know

    Common questions

Covalent was originally architected to complement robust corporate LMSs and specifically support on-the-job training (OJT) processes and records, down to parts, processes, and machines. Unique features include highly configurable gated multi-stakeholder workflows, skill matrices, audit trails, coverage plans, skill-to-job mapping, job eligibility, and integrations with Manufacturing Execution Systems.

For companies that do not already have a robust LMS, or that want a purpose-built solution for their technical workforce, Covalent can stand on its own as the system of record.

The SCORM player supports single-package SCORM 1.2 courses, with SCORM 2004 planned for a later phase. The content library also handles PDFs, videos, and images, so all of your training material can live in one place. If you have a multi-course package, we will guide you on splitting it for playback.

You can store content in Covalent's managed content library, or keep it hosted behind your own firewall and launch it through the player. Either way, learner sessions and completion data are captured on the qualification record. For regulated environments, Covalent supports the same security posture you rely on across the rest of the platform.

Completion is recorded against the related objective, on the same record that holds the on-the-job training steps and sign-offs. That means a completed lesson contributes directly to whether a trainee is qualified for a job, and the whole history, eLearning and OJT, reads as one audit trail.

See it on your own training program

We will show you how your existing SCORM content and OJT workflows come together on one record, with the audit trail your team needs.
